Since 1993, Mark Iration has run Iration Steppas out of Leeds as one of the UK's most influential sound systems — the outfit that helped define "UK Steppers," a harder, heavier strain of dub built for serious bass weight. Tracks like Scud Missile, Kilimanjaro and Reminiscence are genre standards, and the sound system's reach runs through a generation of dub that followed, from O.B.F to King Alpha to Dubkasm. Thirty-plus years in, Iration Steppas remain exactly what they've always been called: the Vanguard of Dub.
